Virginia Erosion and Sediment Control Program
Before you grade, excavate, fill, or clear land, you may have to obtain an Erosion and Sediment Control Permit. To find out contact the Daniel Boone Soil and Water Conservation District office. You may be asked what type of project you plan, the project location, the total area of the property, and the area to be disturbed.
To obtain an Erosion and Sediment Control Permit the following items may be required:

- Application for Erosion and Sediment Control Permit
- Erosion and Sediment Control Responsible Land Disturber Affidavit
- Security bond, cash escrow, letter of credit, or other legal arrangements connected with the permit
- Erosion and Sediment Control Permit fee ($30.00)
- Erosion and Sediment Control Plan, Agreement In Lieu of Plan For A Single Family Residence, or Agreement In Lieu of Plan For Farm Buildings Or Structures
